ANNUAL KITSAP BRANCH PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW: SUBMIT PHOTOS NOW
The Kitsap Branch will hold its third annual Photography Show at its
November 2008 membership meeting. Kitsap Branch Mountaineers and their family members are welcome to enter images they have taken during 2007 and 2008.
The participation rules are as follows: Format will be digital
projection. Entrants may submit up to 10 digital jpg images, with a maximum file size of 350kb and maximum horizontal dimension of 1024 pixels and maximum vertical dimension of 768 pixels. Images may be of any subject, including but not limited to creative (departing from reality), monochrome. Images are due for judging and organizing no later than one week before the show. The images will be judged and certificates given in the following categories:
Best of Show; Fall Colors; Mountain Scenery; People; Animals; Plants; Wildflowers; Reflections; Creative (departure from reality);
Photojournalism (story telling, human interest, sports action); Close Up or Macro; Conservation Measures; Water Activities; Climbing Activities;Hiking Activities; Youth Activities; and SPECIAL CATEGORY FOR 2008 - HUMOR IN THE OUTDOORS.
A special prize awaits the winner of the Best of Show. All images need to be received by John Davis, Photography Committee Chair, by email attachment to jmdbwd@wavecable.com or by mail (on a CD) to John Davis, P.O. Box 4511, South Colby, WA 98384. Images will be destroyed after the show.
Members are encouraged to submit trip photos to the kitsap Mountaineers. The preferred address is John Davis at jmdbwd@wavecable.com. Please limit the submissions to 5 or 6 of the most sceneic and illustrative of the outing. Add a few words to explain each photo content. If a person is clearly identifiable, please name the person. The photos will be edited for size and placement on the website. The website usually posts 4 per trip. The results can be found in the archive links placed at the top of the
Photography page. Posting takes place when the Webmaster is not out hiking. Allow at least a week.
