January is always snowy. Shannon in a tree stump. The creek swirled around the stump, and Shannon was standing upright in the stump. The bottom of the stump was at least two feet below the creek's water level and the inside of the stump was dry. This is pretty typical weather on the way to the Ranger Station at Staircase.
