  • No course fee refunds will be given after the second class session.

2014 Class Schedule

Instructor Training

  • Class session – Wednesday, January 8.  7:00 pm.
  • Field Session - Saturday, January 18.  8:00. am.  Spire Rock, Spanaway.

Winter Mountaineering

  • Class session – Wednesday, February.  7:00 pm
  • Field trip – Saturday-Sunday, February 8-9 .  8:00 am.  Hurricane Ridge.  Overnight field trip.

Climbing Anchors

  • Class session – Thursday, March 6.  7:00 pm.
  • Field Session – Saturday, March 8.  Mt. Erie.

Alpine Rescue

  • Class session – Thursday, April 10.  7:00 pm.
  • Field Session – Saturday, April 12.  8:00 am.  Green Mt State Forest, Gold Creek Trailhead.

Leading on Rock

  • Class Session – Thursday, May 1.  Kitsap Cabin.  7:00 pm
  • Field Session – Saturday, May 3.  8:00 am.  Leavenworth.

Alpine Ice

  • Class session – Thursday, June 5.  7:00 pm.
  • Field Session – Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8. Coleman Glacier, Mt Baker Recreation Area.  Anchors/Ice Ax/Crampons/Lead Climbing

Equipment Notes – Listed equipment will be required as the course develops

  • Purchase of standard climbing rope
  • Acquisition of various types of rock protection
  • Development of carabiner and sling materials
  • Acquisition of snow anchors and ice screws
  • Rock climbing shoes
  • Ice tools

 

 

Club Climbs: These intermediate climbs will sign up on a first-come, first-served status. Kitsap Branch members will have a 2 week sign up window ahead of club-wide sign-ups. Those signing up have to directly contact the climb leader. Prior experience and/or climbing status is required.
