The path was also flattened below the photo point. The slope was only a maximum of 30 deg.. This picture does not do justice. Not visible with the resolution of this web picture is Mount Rainier just to the right of the tree at the left edge of the picture. The peak in the center is Mount Pershing, and the ridgeline on the left leading to Mount Pershing is Jefferson Ridge.
